English Course – 1st Module

by | 27 October 2020 | Blog, Uncategorized

The English version of the Program for Discerning Leadership was carried out this October from Monday 21st until Thursday 24th with 35 participants (16 women, 19 men) including 26 religious, 2 Diocesan Priests and 7 Laypeople.

It was prepared to be run in person, but due to the new restrictions, with collective inner freedom, the team and the participated pivoted online to “Zoom Land” during the first few hours of the course.

Thanks to the generosity and preparation of many faculty members, the content offered was beyond the expectations of many participants, who in return, were very enthusiastic and deeply engaged during the whole week. All these elements made the program a great transformative experience.

During the course, three guest speakers participated along the week to enrich the content of the course, in particular, to offer a broader perspective and experience about synodality: Massimo Faggioli, Sr. Nathalie Becquart, Consultor to the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops, and Julian Paparella.

The course also had outstanding contributions from Jeanine Turner and Bob Bies from Georgetown University, Mark Ravizza from the General Curia of the Society of Jesus, James Grummer from the Pontifical Gregorian University, and David McCallum and Sandra Chaoul.

The group will meet again on December 7th until the 10th, to run the 2nd Module of the course.
