Ignatian Coaches Network

by | 24 August 2020 | News

In order to “Support the development of spiritually mature, discerning leaders who are capable of building a synodal Church”, we are setting up a Network of Ignatian Coaches who will be available to accompany and coach the diverse Church leaders who have taken part in our Discerning Leadership Program.

We contacted 30 Coaches from 20 different countries who have agreed to become part of this community. They are all familiar with Ignatian Spirituality, experienced in group facilitation, and willing to accompany and provide one-on-one support to leaders in the Church.

We planned a workshop for them to build a sense of community, to share good practices, and to give specific contents that would allow us to standardize some concepts. While the workshop was supposed to be held this July 2020 in person, due to the COVID pandemic, we organized two online sessions instead and postponed the presential meeting for February 2021 in Rome.

The online sessions served very well the purpose of initiating a real community of Ignatian Coaches. The workshop included inputs as “Ignatian Worldview”, “Ignatian Theological Anthropology” and “Ignatian Instruments of Growth”. There were also personal reflection times, and sharing in groups of 3 and in the main group.

In order to keep growing as a community, we will meet online three more times before our February encounter in Rome, and we are opening the possibility of creating small groups between them by affinity of region or topic of expertise. If you have questions about the program o interest in retaining an Ignatian Coach, please contact Sandra Chaoul: sandrachaoul@hotmail.com.

We're passionate about developing the attitudes, skills, and knowledge of the senior Church leaders required to lead in a synodal manner.
