The second part of the Discerning Leadership 2020 Courses were held in December for both English (7th-10th) and Spanish (15th-18th) cohorts.

In the English course participated 34 Church leaders (16 women and 18 men) and 24 in the Spanish (11 women and 13 men), including officials in Vatican Dicasteries, General Superiors and Counselors of religious orders, and lay leaders.

For the second part of the courses, we had the participation of a very rich variety of speakers:

  • Card. Tagle and Card. Czerny offered speeches about Synodality in the Church from very complementary and rich perspectives.
  • The faculty of Georgetown University and ESADE offer the best of their knowledge regarding Leadership, Management, Strategy, Communication styles and Conflict resolution, Team Building
  • Theologians from the Gregorian University and Deusto University gave very deep and important insights about Discernment in Common
  • We had testimonies from María Luisa Berzosa, Advisor of the Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops, and Frederic Fornos, International Director of Pope’s Prayer.

According to the participants’ testimonies at the end of the course, it was not only a time for acquiring more knowledge but a time of transformation. The engagement and enthusiasm of the participants was very high and a key element of the learning process that fed from their experiences, reflections and sharings.

We're passionate about developing the attitudes, skills, and knowledge of the senior Church leaders required to lead in a synodal manner.
