He is the current dean of the Faculty of Theology of Deusto (Bilbao, Spain). He studied Philosophy at the University of Comillas (Madrid, Spain), and Dogmatic Theology at Sankt Georgen (Frankfurt, Germany). He has been Provincial of the Society of Jesus in Spain.
